Clean Air. Save Energy - KMA_
Air filter systems for food processing industry and pharmaceutical manufacturer_
KMA produces exhaust air filtration systems for many application areas in the food processing industry. The development focus of our engineers and process technicians has always been sustainability and efficiency. The result: KMA exhaust air filtration systems usually need about 80 % less energy than conventional afterburning systems!
In addition to exhaust air solutions for industrial frying, smokehouses and spray dryers, KMA offers tailor-made systems for drying systems and roasting plants. The systems clean the exhaust air from the drying and roasting of food and pet food. In addition to exhaust air purification, modules for heat recovery and odor removal are available. Drying fruits such as apples or bananas, hops, herbs, spices, tomatoes or onions are dried in drying plants; in roasteries nuts or cocoa.

Specific requirements for air purification in smokehouses
The exhaust of strong odour and fumes from food production lines requires the cleaning of waste air emissions. In comparison to non-food productions, the food processing industry is often faced with particular problems that arise from either the type of emission/emissions or are due to the manufacturer’s location.
Exhaust air filter systems for industrial frying & cooking
During the industrial frying process normally occurs an exhaust air mixture of smoke and intensive odours. The KMA ULTRAVENT® Hybrid Filter is an energy-efficient alternative to afterburning systems. KMA ULTRAVENT® exhaust air filtration systems eliminate oil, grease and odours from the exhaust air and are used at all frying and cooking systems such as frying lines, belt grills, contact cooker or hot air tunnels etc.
Exhaust air purification and heat recovery in food drying
Production plants for food drying are confronted with the complex question of an efficient exhaust air purification with simultaneous waste heat utilization.
The food drying process is one of the oldest food preservation processes in the world. It is suitable for a wide range of products – from vegetables and fruit to spices or tea. Water is removed from the product through a constant high heat effect until the water content is between 18% and 25%, depending on the product.
High-grade exhaust air purification and odour separation in roasting plants
Whether for cocoa or nuts – roasting plants around the world face a special challenge. As achieving the desired aroma and the ideal degree of roasting is usually accompanied by high levels of exhaust air and odor pollution. These contaminants can be VOCs, odorous aerosols or other particles
Exhaust air purification and heat recovery at industrial baking lines
From bread and rolls to pizza dough and deep fried dough foods — producing baked goods requires individually adapted industrial production lines. In order to guarantee a high-quality baking result, the individual modules such as divider-rounder machine, proofing cabinet, cooling spiral or tunnel oven are fitted exactly to the respective baked goods.
